Melicien A. Tettambel, DO, FAAO, a leader in osteopathic obstetrics and gynecology, passed away on September 11, 2013, at far too young an age. She has, however, left a grand legacy for the osteopathic profession, and in particular, for the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO). This selection of her published writings, carefully curated by Raymond J. Hruby, DO, MS, FAAODist., represents some of her best work.

Melicien Tettambel was my friend, teacher, mentor and colleague. I miss her smile and laughter. She encouraged women in the Osteopathic Profession to be the best they could be and stand out in their field. She was afraid of no one. She spoke her mind and told the truth. She was not afraid to be different, as all Osteopaths are! Her contribution to the field, colleagues and students is enormous. I know she is looking down on us, and continues to guide and mentor us in her own special style.
